The airport serving Santa Cruz Island is located on Baltra Island.
To get to Puerto Ayora and Bay View House from the airport all visitors to the island should follow the following route.
STEP 1:
Once you disembark from the plane on Baltra Island, outside the airport you must take a public bus to the Itabaca Channel, this trip lasts approximately 10 minutes and costs 5 dollars per national or foreign person.
STEP 2:
Once in the Itabaca Canal you must take a barge that crosses the canal to Santa Cruz Island, this trip lasts approximately 10 minutes and costs 1 dollar per national or foreign person.
STEP 3:
Once on Santa Cruz Island it is necessary to cross the island to get to the city of Puerto Ayora, for this journey there are 2 options:
1) Take a public bus that costs 5 dollars per person and takes about 1 hour, the bus arrives at the main dock in the center of Puerto Ayora, from here you must walk only 3 minutes to Bay View House.
2) You can take a private cab for up to 4 people for a one-time fee of $25, which can take you to the Bay View House gate in 45 minutes.
